Summary
REI's electric-bike category lists 20 bikes from six brands across gravel, cargo, hybrid, cruiser and mountain categories, and 12 of the 20 are Class 1. Its only house-brand e-bike is the Co-op Cycles CTY e2.1, a Class 1 step-through with a 250W hub motor and a 418Wh removable battery. The CTY e2.1 listing includes in-store assembly and a year of free adjustments, and REI adds a second year on e-bikes for members.
The catalog by category and brand
| Category | Bikes listed |
|---|---|
| Electric gravel | 5 |
| Electric cargo | 5 |
| Electric hybrid | 4 |
| Electric cruiser | 3 |
| Electric mountain | 3 |
Cannondale has the most listings with 7, followed by Tern with 5, Salsa with 4, Brompton with 2, and Co-op Cycles and Electra with 1 each.
The class filter counts 12 Class 1 bikes, 1 Class 2 and 6 Class 3, which leaves one bike without a class tag. Eleven use a mid-drive motor and nine a geared hub. Sixteen have a removable battery, 10 come with a rack and 10 with fenders, 6 are step-throughs and 4 fold.
Hybrids and mountain bikes are small groups
The hybrid category has four bikes: the CTY e2.1 and three versions of Cannondale's Adventure Neo Allroad. Among them are one Class 1, one Class 2 and two Class 3 bikes. All four have a removable battery, and three are step-throughs.
The electric mountain category has three: the Salsa Moraine CUES 10 and the Cannondale Moterra 3 and Moterra 4. All three are Class 1 with a mid-drive motor, 29-inch wheels and full suspension, and their batteries are 430Wh, 600Wh and 800Wh.

Assembly, adjustments and test rides
