How Do Hyper's Adult E-Bikes Differ, and What Does Hyper Publish for the 26-Inch E-Ride Mountain?

Manufacturer, retailer and public-agency sources · 2026-09-24 · no ratings, no road tests

Summary

Every adult Hyper e-bike compared below lists a 36V, 250W motor and a 20-mile range, so the models differ mainly in frame, gearing and brakes, and the 29-inch E-Ride Mountain Mid-Drive is the mountain bike among them. For the 26-inch E-Ride Mountain, which is not in the comparison, Hyper publishes an owner's manual and a replacement battery listing with its own compatibility limits.

All of these list a four-hour charging time. The Jet Fuel BMX runs on 26 x 4 inch fat tires, and it and the 29-inch mountain bike list a 275 lb rider maximum. The other pages give no rider limit, and none of the five states a bike weight. The collection also includes the 20-inch Ultra 40, a 14-inch E-Ride Compact, a 20-inch E-Ride 4.0, a Barbie-branded 26-inch cruiser and a 16-inch kids' balance bike, which are outside this comparison.

The 29-inch Mid-Drive is the only one of the five with rear suspension, pairing a Suntour XCM32 fork with 100mm of travel and a rear air shock. Hyper lists its motor's maximum torque as 81.13 ft-lb, or 110 Nm (printed as "110 NW").

Manual and battery for the 26-inch E-Ride Mountain

Hyper's owner-manuals page includes a "26in Hyper E-Ride Mountain MTB-FS Owners Manual." The linked file is named for an MTB-HT model, so the page and the file name differ on whether the bike is the full-suspension or hardtail version.

Hyper's 36V 7.8Ah replacement battery lists "26in Hyper E-Ride Mountain eMTB-FS" and "26" HYPER E-RIDE MOUNTAIN Gray" among its compatible models, both under the same part number. The same page states that it "will not work with the 26" Jet Fuel E-bike, E-Trike and Hyper E-bikes purchased at Sam's Club," and that battery purchases are final. Hyper says the battery "can last from 3 to 5 years."

For a 26-inch E-Ride bought at Sam's Club, that exclusion means the listing for the same model name does not cover it.

Hub drive or mid-drive on the 700c City

The two 700c City bikes share a battery, top speed and range figure. The mid-drive version moves the 250W motor to the cranks, adds a seventh gear and replaces the V-brakes with disc brakes. Hyper describes it as having "a higher initial and continuous torque, more responsive pedal assist system, and a balanced center of gravity," but gives no torque figure for either City model.
